Founded in early 2003 by partners and friends, Robert Newry and James Duckenfield, NewField IT has seen significant growth, both in the UK and the US where it opened its Philadelphia office in 2009.

Our services can be broadly divided into three areas:

Consultancy Services
Helping organisations analyse their requirements, develop a strategy, go to market and on-going optimisation advice.

Software Services
Implementing, integrating and supporting software in the printing and imaging space.

Optimisation Toolsets
Originally developed to optimise our Consultancy Services our MPS Toolset software, Asset DB, is used now by all the leading managed print providers, as well as several major end-user organisations.

In May 2011 NewField IT were acquired by the US-based Xerox Corporation. We continue to operate as an independent subsidiary, wholly-owned by Xerox. It is the stated intention of both parties that NewField IT continues to work as an independent consultancy, representing the best interests of each client. A number of steps are being taken to ensure this can be achieved:

  • All confidentiality agreements that are in place will be honored
  • We will continue to work from our own offices in Twickenham and Philadelphia, staffed by the same teams
  • We will keep our own, separate IT systems
  • Our existing current code of conduct will remain in place

We have always had to ensure that we show no fear when working with a client, especially where there are suppliers with whom we also partner. We will continue to conduct our business in the same professional, ethical and professional manner and our fundamental principle of "doing the right thing" for each client remains.

NewField IT are members of Intellect, the UK trade association for technology companies and the international Managed Print Services Association MPSA. We play an active role in thought leadership at both organisations.

James Duckenfield is Chair of Intellect's Managed Print Services Group. The group brings together members with an interest in Managed Print Services (MPS) to facilitate both the customer and supply communities' understanding of managed print and its capabilities.

Robert Newry is a Board Member for MPSA (Managed Print Service Association), a not-for-profit organisation that serves the emerging Managed Print Services (MPS) Industry through development of standards and industry best practices.
